All very funny! I would add that 2010 will be the year that every unemployed person with a computer to re-name themselves "social media consultant or coach"

Absolutely right Kevin - I've had the same conversations - the term 'blogging' is synonymous with social-networking and not necessarily a term many business minded individuals relate to business.

To term Wordpress as simply blogging software is like calling Firefox bookmarking software... there's just so much more too it.

I wouldn't say 'blogging' is deemed a 'bad word' amongst the B2B community but it still receives the same headscratching and chin stroking as 'twittering' does.

I've been suggesting to University's for a while that they use a blog format for their news section of the site. The ability for tagging, comments, sharing just makes it so much more engaging than your old school press release.

Thanks for the to-the-point post!

I think I'm going to adopt this philosophy. jk The only problem is this dude will probably never get a gig. If he does it'll be a job that no sane person would ever take. Is there such a thing as reverse-marketing?

Yup, and your comment reminds me of Compendium's battle to stay simple versus adding new features. There's a fine line between too much control (not as easy to use) and not enough features. I think Wordpress does it pretty well though.

Wordpress is definitely not a no-brainer. There is a lot that can go wrong if you don't know what you're doing. I still screw things up all the time.

I think that, like many powerful tools, if it were that easy to use you'd lose some of the power and versatility.
