There's a fine line between too much control (not as easy to use) and not enough features. I think Wordpress does it pretty well though. There is a lot that can go wrong if you don't know what you're doing. I still screw things up all the time. I think that, like many powerful tools, if it were that easy to use you'd lose some of the power and versatility. Wordpress is definitely not a no-brainer.
